Did you know that using a rain barrel can save you 960 glasses of water over a rainy season? A rain barrel is, as the name, a barrel that catches rain water. Most come with hose attachments so that you can use the rainwater on your garden. Most can hold up to 60 bottles of water, and your town may even offer a program where you can buy a rain barrel at a discount from them. Either that, or you can follow the directions in the video above to make your own. Here’s a breakdown of rain barrel programs in major cities, hopefully you are close to one of them. If not, call your town and ask them if they have a rain barrel program.
