A Brighter Cinco de Mayo

Tonight has more to offer than free shots and guacamole. Tonight is a Full Moon, and not just any full moon but a “Supermoon”. I know that’s not a scientific term but that’s what its being called. What’s important is the moon  will be 30% brighter and about 14% larger.

This only happens once a year, so it’s worth going out of your house tonight in your snuggie or sombrero and taking a look. This is the one time of the year when the moon is closest to the earth.

In two weeks the moon will pass between the sun and the earth and eclipse. This you can’t miss, a lunar eclipse is one of those natural occurrences that never gets old. As you stumble home tonight from your Cinco de Mayo party, remember to look up and marvel at the wonders of our universe.
