Many people attempt to make the journey around the world. Some race for speed, some race for pride, but LOMOcean Design races for scientific achievement. The New Zealand based company wanted to make the trip around the world to prove that a sea going vessel could travel 25,000 miles powered solely by the rays of the sun.
The trip that started back in 2010, recently finished last week, taking the 4-man crew 584 days to complete. Along with making it around the world on solar power, the vessel itself is also the largest solar powered boat in the world, spanning a whopping 100ft.
