To brand name or not to brand name when it comes to mattresses?
Sealy, Serta, Stearns and Foster are very powerful brands. Do they offer the best quality mattresses? Is it better to buy a brand name mattress? Are you choosing based on fear of making the wrong decision?
You associate these brands with quality mattresses but do they really offer a quality products that last? Do any of your friends say “i just love my Sealy mattress”.. none of mine do …. but Tempur-Pedic owners preach Tempur like a religion.
The mattress industry is one of the few industries that still offer products few know anything about. Spring quality, IDL, mmHg, fabrics, fire retardants, durabiliuty etc, so big brands still have a stronghold on the bedding industry because the consumers are not empowered by knowledge. Serta or Keetsa……well Serta of course right?
Making a decision based on fear is still very real when choosing a mattress. Take your time, do some research and read the reviews. You’ll be sleeping on it every night for the next 10 years.
Ask your us your mattress questions, we’re here to help.

I d like to know the ranking of brand
mattresses
Sometimes “big brand” names are the real losers. Black & Decker vs. Snapper? Budweiser vs. a microbrew — are you kidding me??
I went mattress shopping at a department store yesterday. The difference between a higher-end pocket coil and a Essentia Classic mattress is only a few hundred dollars. The pocket coil comes with a 10-year warranty. The Essentia mattress comes with a 20-year warranty. The decision is easy.
The “green” non-toxic manufacturing is great. I like birds & trees, but to me cash is finite; I’m really chasing the “investment” perspective of purchasing a mattress.
If I can “squeeze” 30 years out of one of these puppies, I will. No springs to wear out! Sanitation and keeping the mattress in good repair is important to me. Any suggestions?
Your website seems concerned with how Essentia’s pricing compares to other memory-foam mattresses. Well I can tell you that Essentia Direct beats out a certain department store’s Tempur-Pedic pricing by a long shot.
