The last thing that most people want from a travel experience is a gaggle of kids running around on deck by day and a bunch of puking drunks roaming the same decks by night. Modern day cruise ships usually resemble an endless ancient Roman feast with more water and sun. “Sustainable” generally isn’t a word you will hear onboard a cruise ship. In fact, they generate three times more carbon dioxide than planes.
To find a more sustainable path, you have to step up in the price category a fair amount. While this is regrettable, we think that the experiences that you will have will certainly match the higher dollar value. While the best we found was partnered with National Geographic (natch) there are others out there.
