Scientists at Columbia have come up with hybird solar cells that produce both heat and electricity in tandem with each other.
Huiming Yin, associate professor at Columbia in civil engineering and engineering mechanics, created the panels while on a project to create more efficient solar cells. The panels are being developed in partnership with Weidlinger Associates, an engineering firm.
