Sanyo isn’t just another Japanese electronics company anymore. Now, they’ve made the EV that went the furthest on a single charge, making them kind of gods of the green world.
The Japan EV Club converted a Daihatsu Mira to Sanyo batteries and promptly came close to doubling the world record for miles traveled on a single charge in an electric vehicle. The record was broken at a racetrack in Japan by the Club that had created the record themselves last November.
To put the sheer distance that they traveled – 624 Miles – in perspective, consider that the high end Tesla Roadster can only go 313 miles on a single charge, for all its luxe beauty.
