NASA Releases Maps That Show Extent of Global Warming

by Angela December 17th, 2010 - No Comments »

A little hard to fake something you can carefully document from space with some of the best instruments and minds our civilization has; but I’m sure the climate skeptics will find something wrong with this NASA study that shows that the earth’s temperature has risen 0.8 degrees since 1880, two-thirds of the rise happening since 1975.

If you want to dispute the accuracy of these readings, suck on this paragraph from their site:

“To conduct its analysis, GISS uses publicly available data from 6,300 meteorological stations around the world; ship-based and satellite observations of sea surface temperature; and Antarctic research station measurements. These three data sets are loaded into a computer analysis program—available for public download from the GISS web site—that calculates trends in temperature anomalies relative to the average temperature for the same month during 1951-1980.” -NASA Earth Observatory Website
