Cigarette pack warnings get bigger and more shocking once again.

I hope for your health’s sake those reading this aren’t smokers but if you are that is your right and enjoy to the full extent. There have been warning labels on cigarette packs for sometime now. Not just here in Canada but all over the world. However, Canada seems to be leading the way with shocking messages and graphic pictures. Do these messages and pictures work on smokers? I don’t think it has much of an effect at all.

I noticed a package the other day and the warning is now a graphic as well as a little message about the health concerns of smoking cigarettes. This new warning takes up 4/5 of the package. You can barely make out what brand of cigarettes it is.  I’m thinking big tobacco is not too happy about this.

Anyhow, I think these warnings are a bit ridiculous and I don’t believe they have much if any of an effect on what smokers think. Care to argue with me or share your opinion? I’d be interested to know your opinion on what you think about the kind of effect these messages and images have. Not just on smokers but the general public at large.

I found this video from youtube that I was quite taken with.  Every adult in it that a child asks for a light tells them how bad it is for them and they shouldn’t do it but there they are puffing away.  Have a watch YouTube Preview Image!
