After riding my bike for a week now, I can say one thing it’s a workout. My ride is a 50/50 split of uphill and flat terrain for four miles, which isn’t too bad in the morning but after a day of work seems like forever.
On the upside, I feel like a kid again. Leaning into corners and powering up hills is an uplifting feeling, the rushing sound of wind reminds me that fun is achievable at a small price. Another upside is that I can actually sleep. The 8-mile journey makes me tired, so falling asleep at a decent hour is a breeze.
In all, I’ve probably paid for about a quarter of my bike and by this time next month it will start to pay me back for the years of driving I’ve done around town.
