Is Your Garden BPA Free? It May Not Be if You Use These Products

The garden products and tools you use may be injecting your garden with BPA without your knowledge, according to a study by HealthyStuff.org. If you leave a new water hose out in the sun, there will be appreciable levels of chemicals and lead in the water the first few times that you use it.There’s even a good dose of BPA in there for good measure.

So how can you get “healthy” garden tools? Stay away from PVC hoses and go for rubber. Let your hose run for a minute before watering a food or herb garden with it. Keep tools out  of the sun so chemicals can’t leach off of it more easily in the heat. And check out the results of the study and the tips here for more.
