Yosemite Trims Down

by michael August 1st, 2011 - No Comments »

Anybody that’s been to Yosemite park in California knows it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. Photographers like Ansel Adams flocked to the park in the 40′s to witness some of the breathtaking scenery.

Today; however, some of Yosemite’s majestic charm has, well, gotten in the way. There have been some trees that have ruined key vistas in the park so; the park’s commission has stepped in to remove these “ distractions”. These trees have over grown and now stick out, ruining the view for millions of Yosemite visitors.

This project will restore the views that have made Yosemite the destination for those who want to bask in the magnificance of nature.

405 Closure=Lots Of Sales

by michael July 14th, 2011 - No Comments »

With Carmageddon coming up fast( 1 day 4 hours), it’s important to know your options. Biking and walking will be the two safest and fastest ways of transportation.

If you’re a West LA local forced to drive, you should know to avoid the main streets. Wilshire, Santa Monica, Olympic, Pico, and Venice Boulevard’s will most likely be gridlocked. The best thing to do is stick to side streets and try to Pacman your way through traffic.

If you find yourself stuck pull over and enjoy all the sales happening this weekend. Here at Essentia we will be running a 405 promotion so if you are tired of the traffic come rest on the worlds only natural memory foam beds. http://www.myessentia.com/locations/santa-monica

iBamboo, Coolest iphone Speaker Yet

by michael June 20th, 2011 - No Comments »

Today, we live in an age where ihomes dominate and boom-boxes are extinct. Now i love the ihome, they are sleek and compact with great sound; however, iBamboo takes my vote for one of the coolest things you can plug an iphone into. The iBamboo is just like natures ihome. What it does is resinates the sound from the iphone speaker, amplifying it out of each end, which makes the volume increase.Watch the video and be amazed !

Here in Santa Monica, Whole Foods Markets are everywhere. They are a great place to pick up whatever food you need and have practically every natural and organic product you can think of. If you’re a Whole Foods regular though, you know that their parking lots are always a mess and buying anything will cost you an arm and a leg.

FogAndSmogFilms just released this video on Youtube addressing the issues the organic consumer faces. The video does a great job making fun of all the stereotypes that apply to Whole Foods customers. It’s great to see that I’m not he only one who suffers while doing my weekly shop.

Chipotle is Green

by michael March 15th, 2011 - No Comments »

Yum just hearing the name makes my bottle lip quiver and my mouth salivate. Chipolte is one of those places that you don’t have to feel guilty about going to. Chipotle uses natural meats, hormone-free chicken, and uses a significant amount of organic beans (25-30%). It also strives to source some ingredients locally and seasonally.

Chipotle has a LEED platinum certified location, with all of its chains having  ”green” in mind. For example Chipotle offers environmentally friendly utensils which biodegrade naturally.

Chipotle has over 1,000 locations across the US that make about $1.8 billion in annual revenue.Chipotle remains one of the greenest fast food chains in the US. So now you can eat fast food with less guilt, knowing the environment and food stay fresh!
