Organic Chicken Less Likely To Give you Salmonella

I know. You’re thinking: “how is that possible?”. It is.

A study at the University of Georgia tested the manure and feed of both conventional and organic chickens, and found that 38.8 percent of the conventional birds carried the barf bug, salmonella, while only 5.6 percent of the organic birds did.

Next fact you didn’t want to ever know: 39.7 percent of the salmonella found in the conventional chickens were resistant to six different strains of bacteria.

Ew. So. Pass the organic chicken, please!
