The fertility industry charges the baby-challenged billions of dollars a year for drugs, surgery, and treatments to make them fertile. Trent Arsenault aimed to change all that by offering his sperm for free, sperm that comes from a guy who eats an organic diet, has a good brain on his shoulders and, if his website stats are correct, a sperm count that could make other dudes shrivel up just from reading it.
The FDA isn’t having any of this free, unregulated stuff. No, they may be charging Mr. Arsenault with a $100,000 fine, and he may even be eligible for some jail time for being a “manufacturer of human cells”. The FDA is understandably concerned that Trent may start a revolution in free sperm donations that could undermine the fertility industry, but really they’re just looking out for your health. Uh huh.
This is the creepiest and most unselfish thing all at the same time. Is it strange that I feel better about someone getting paid to provide sperm than just randomly giving it away… Maybe that says something about me and not him?
