Play Me I’m Yours in Toronto!

So the Pan AM games are being hosted in Toronto in a couple years. You may have noticed some piano’s around the city? All of which are beautifully painted, each one differently.

There are 41 pianos in all, which represents the 41 countries that participate in the Pan AM games. An artist from each of these 41 countries has painted one. The artists now reside here in the city but are originally from one of these countries.

This is an idea that originally came out of London where they had 30 pianos all over the city for the Play Me I’m Yours Festival. Since then it has spread to major cities all over the world.

All the pianos that are being used are old, recycled pianos. And the goal is to get people that live in big cities to actually stop and chat to one another. Piano’s are the talking point here obviously. So next time you are waiting to catch your subway or streetcar or bus or just simply strolling around town, have a sit down and play a tune or strike up a chat with someone.

You never know ;)   More info here!
