Five Myths About Green Products

by freshfuzz April 20th, 2010 - No Comments »

Recycling is one of the most powerful ways you can contribute to the planet and doing your part does not require drastic changes in your life, there’s always little ways people can help out.

1. Eco-friendly grocery options are expensive

Choosing to buy locally grown organic foods will benefit not only your health and the planet but your wallet as well. Buy a reusable bag to carry your items. Plastic bags are made out of polythene and it takes 1000 years for polyethylene bags to break down into the soil and eventually they enter the food chain – Do you want to eat a plastic bag?

Want to know more? Check out this iReport from CNN written by a lady who clips coupons and manages to find bargains at Whole Foods.

2. Natural Cleansers aren’t tough enough
Instead of having a cupboard full of store bought cleaning products under the sink remove them and start making your own. Vinegar is the key to making your own cleaners. It’s a mild acid that dissolves dirt, hard water deposits, and soap scum.

Here’s a site gives great tips for making your own cleaning products.

3. Having appliances turned off saves energy
Your phone charger you aren’t using, computer, toaster – everything, it’s always sucking power. Whether it’s turned off or not it’s better to just unplug them if you aren’t using them.
To learn more about how to conserve your energy when something isn’t in use look at this report from PCWorld.

4. Hybrid Vehicles are The Better Choice
If you’re currently driving a gas guzzling truck, sure a hybrid is your better choice. An oversized hybrid SUV is no comparison to a standard compact car, and not all hybrids are equal. In some instances, a non-hybrid car uses less gas and produces less pollution.

Seek the truth about those hybrids by reading an article supplied by msn.com.

5. I’m just one person, I can’t make a difference
Although one person will not single-handedly stop global warming, that single person’s contribution is more powerful than they think. Lead by example, let others in on tips on how to be eco-friendly, and save them some cash as well. One persons actions followed by everyone else can make a difference.

Visit this site by Brian Clark to see his take on how one person can make a difference and get tips on how to do your part.

Eco-Friendly Laundry Detergents

by Jason April 24th, 2008 - 4 Comments »

detergentChances are you know what that big jug is for.

Now imagine everyone in your neighborhood lining up to poor it in the river. Kinda dumb ay?

I contacted my local big box grocery store about this. In their 20 foot long wall of detergents not one was green. The closest they came to an eco-friendly detergent was President Choice’s concentrated laundry detergent which they considered green because it was concentrated therefore came it a smaller bottle. Need i say more?

I wrote them an e-mail about having alternatives. They never responded.

BTW phosphates are no longer permitted in laundry detergents in the U.S.

Here’s a list of eco-friendly cleaners or visit Mrs Meyers, or Seventh Generation.

Christmas Eve

by Jason December 24th, 2007 - No Comments »

I hope everyone is excited to give our contour pillows as gifts this Christmas. We had a record number sold this season and i assume they were purchased as gifts. If you received one and love it let me know ;)

If you’re not sure which way you’re supposed to be sleeping on it, no worries, you’re certainly not the first to ask. They should come with instructional videos.

 Merry Christmas
