World Water Day 2012

by Paul March 22nd, 2012 - No Comments »

Today is World Water Day and in Toronto MINT is celebrating it with movies, music and art.

Every year this day is celebrated around the world. The point of this day is to raise more awareness of how precious and important our world’s fresh water is. It is also a day to think about new ways to use sustainable management when dealing with our water supply.

MINT (Made IN Toronto) Film Festival is playing a role by screening films, live music, art and a today only photo exhibit put on by WWF Canada. This event is happening today at the Royal Ontario Museum in downtown Toronto.

1. Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet Only $199

2. A daily deal from Groupon or Living Social for a manicure/pedicure or some other service

3. Basket themed gifts (college student, mom, golfer, movie lover, food lover, chocolate lover, game player, hobby enthusiast)

4. Accessories for electronics (phone cover, laptop sleeve/cover, games, software)

5. Bottle of sparkling cider or wine

6. Funny t-shirt (many you can find for only $5) found at 5 Below, Wal-Mart, Target and online at Tanga.com

7. Gift card for music, movies or food at a restaurant (More people will continue to want gift cards for special outings since the economy is still bad; more and more people are staying at home instead of dining out, going to the movies or a concert.)

8. Coupon book (Richmond Kooponz booklet is a great stocking stuffer or gift for friends, co-workers or coupon users. Go to kooponz.com)

9. Anything useful that people want or need. Or you could buy something that the person considers a luxury in this new economy, like soda or junk food. Many people have cut back on these types of items and are only buying the essentials. You could wrap a couple 2-liter bottles of soda in special wrapping to give as a creative and inexpensive gift. A Thrifty Mom has a template to use.

10. Food gift sets (cheese and crackers, sausage and cheese, hot sauces, chili/soup mixes)
