Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival

by Paul June 2nd, 2011 - No Comments »

This weekend in Mississauga marks the 39th year of the Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival. The festival is held in the village of Streetsville in Mississauga all weekend long from Friday June 3rd to Sunday June 5th.

I’ve been here a couple of times and must say it is a great day out for the entire family, including music, games, rides, food and a lot of free bread and honey. They will also be holding a parade on Saturday morning along Queen Street from 10am-12pm.

Be sure to try the vegetarian fajita’s from the Mr Fajita stand, they are sooo good. Come out and enjoy the day.  FYI Friday night is free admission.

Restaurants are offering great deals on special vegetarian meals, all entirely free of animal products. Many new restaurants and specials have been announced over the past few days alone, so be sure to check out the website to get full details on places such as Sadie’s Diner, Rawlicious, Magic Oven, Lick’s and many, many more!

Did you know that adopting a plant-based diet is one of the best things you can do for the planet? Christopher Flavin of the Worldwatch Institute says, “There is no question that the choice to become a vegetarian or lower meat consumption is one of the most positive lifestyle changes a person could make in terms of reducing one’s personal impact on the environment.” This Earth Day, April 22, honour the earth by joining in the Veggielicious festivities!

Toronto Vegetarian Association

by Paul April 12th, 2011 - No Comments »

The Toronto Vegetarian Association was founded in 1945 and is a very diverse group of people that are simply passionate about what kind of food is going into their bodies.  They also take pride in sustainable living and compassion for animals.

If you need any information regarding vegetarianism TVA is a one stop shop.  They have a great website, a walk-in resource centre, business directory for vegetarian businesses, and they also host North America’s biggest annual vegetarian food fair.

Donations are relied on from green minded, healthy people like you to enable them to continue to enlighten people to choose a greener and healthier lifestyle.
