Americans are spoiled by low gas prices. “Yes” I said it, low and have been abusing this privilege with gas guzzling cars and SUV’s for years. If you look at other countries like the UK, where gas is a whopping $10 dollar a gallon, they’ve adapted with public transport and smaller cars.
Americans are learning though, a recent poll showed Scooter sales on the rise. It’s shocking but there has been a steep increase in Vespa and Scooter sales in 2011. Americans are realizing that alternatives like Scooters are very fuel-efficient and get you to your destination faster.
Here in Santa Monica, we see hundreds of scooters a day. Santa Monica and Venice have turned into the Europe of the West Coast. Aside from being fuel efficient and cheap, scooters are fun. You get to experience the wind rushing around as you zip around town.
If you do get a Moped be sure to wear a helmet and be safe. Do not try to show off like the guy in the video!
